Communion

Within your soul, I hear Him sing to me,
His voice, the ever-sweet, poetic song;
His voice is song itself and poetry,
and in your words and thoughts He sings your life.
In me, He sings His melody of love
and life and light entwined, to you today,
and beauty springs alight, aloft in song.
Our Lord and Savior Christ invokes here, now,
this harmony between His creatures' souls;
eternity is summoned by His grace,
vibrating bones and breath to match His tune.
'Tis Christ in you Who sings to Christ in me,
and Christ Himself Who draws us close again,
that we delight in Him and thus delight
between us grows, an everlasting song,
perfecting still, communion whole and sweet.
